Harness the light of the sun on your windowsill or back deck to use at night. The Sun Jar is made from a traditional frosted mason jar that houses a highly efficient solar cell, rechargeable battery, and 3 low energy LED lamps. A light sensor automatically activates the Sun Jar when it gets dark. Place it in direct sunlight for a few hours and your Sun Jar is powered up and ready to provide you with warm sun-like light for over five hours. The soft glowing light works great as a nightlight in a child's bedroom, or to light a romantic dinner table. There are no visible controls, and the Sun Jar is completely waterproof so it can be used outside in any weather conditions.

Saw one of these at a relative’s house and instantly needed to have one. It glows warmly in the evening and keeps glowing through the night. Best for places where you get a lot of sun, though in winter months I just had to move it around to find a sufficiently sunny spot. Also solar-powered, so good for the environment.

Whether you keep your sunshine in electrical fixtures or in a bag you’ve gotta share it with people. When I threw an outdoor shindig, I put the jar on the deck to light up the festivities and it was big hit. It had been charging all day and when we turned it on, it looked really bright but really natural as well.

Really nice ambient light for the evenings. It's more comparable to a candle or a nightlight, so it isn't ideal if you want something for reading or doing other work by, but the glow is nice to add romance and/or relaxation to a quiet evening. I did replace the included battery with a name brand one after reading other reviews, and so far my sun jar has worked great.
